I have spent time building up my twitter account and producing and releasing several tools such as my e-book template set and my Twitter giveaway software. However, I am not enjoying my journey as of late. After some serious soul searching, I am beginnin the process of complete online reboot.

My goal in starting this site was to use it as my primary online brand. However, it has not really lent itself to that task as well as I was hoping. As such, I will be converting this site to my online holding company if you will. This will be the corporate site for my online ventures but will no longer be my primary online brand.

Since I will be making significant changes to my online brand, I am going to start with a massive twitter reboot. So if I stop following you, it is simply because I am starting over online, not that I no longer find your information useful. In reality, many of you will see me un-follow and then re-follow over the next few days.

So stay tuned.

I will be revamping this site in the next few weeks to make it more “Twitter” centric. This will include integration of my tweet stream into my main blog as well as some other changes.

I will also in the next few weeks substantially change the offerings from this site.

Stay tuned … You will enjoy the changes, I guarantee.

All I have to say to that is … not if you are an Internet marketer.

In truth, the current economic crisis should be a boom to your marketing business. It is when people are desperate for a solution to a problem that they become your best customer if you have a solution to their problem.

The trick to make the current crisis work for you is to make sure that figure out what is the desperation drivers for your niche. If you know what those motivators are, then you will know how to frame your marketing efforts.

So what are people currently afraid of?

• Losing their job
• Find a new job if they are out of work
• Losing their house
• Losing value in their house
• Being able to get car loans
• Being able to get student loans
• Being able to refinance their mortgage
• Being able to put food on the table

Since the current psychological mindset is one of fear, you need to make sure you are giving them solutions to their fears. Look for items to sell/promote that give the user solutions to these fears, and you will do very well in the current crisis.

Other than that I think the whole process of writing for Squidoo has been an interesting diversion from the usual PLR writing. Squidoo is a pretty interesting platform and I think that I will produce more lenses in the future. Now if only I could get an offer on my current lens :)

Flipping a lens is basically producing some new content on a topic and then publish a page on Squidoo. Once the page is produced, you sell it to someone else. Squidoo is pretty cool in that they welcome monetization of your lenses. In fact they include several modules that let you profit from Amazon and eBay and they will pay you a cut of the revenue. So this makes Squidoo attractive for people that are looking to generate passive income.

So today I decided to try my hand and producing a lens to flip.

First I needed to pick a topic. I settled on something job related since the current economy is in the tank and there are lots of people job hunting. So after looking around Google’s Keyword Tool I settled on targeting job interview questions.

Well after lots of fussing and messing around inside of Squidoo (first time using it), I managed to produce my first lens … How To Get the Job: Acing the Interview Questions. In the process, I managed to get plenty of “job interview questions” sprinkled in the content and worked in some contextually relevant Clickbank hoplinks and an Amazon book to be safe.

Ok now that the easy part is done comes the harder part … Getting someone to buy it from me. For without the sale, it is not a flip.

So is there anyone out there that is willing to give me say $50 for the lens (oh by the way $100 seems to be about the going rate for one of these things, but since it is my first it could use some more polishing)

Update: Well I have produced a lens, worked on getting some traffic to it, still can’t seem to find any takers. So far the flip has been a big bust. Have you had similar experiences on your flips? Let me know. I would love to hear from you.

My site now boasts a custom WordPress theme that I have been working on in my spare time. It is not perfect yet, but I thought it would be a good time to go ahead and get it pushed out the door. So if you see some oddities or compatibility problems, please let me know.

Also of note, you may have noticed that my tag line has changed. Since I am going to switch my focus to tools and software for marketers, I thought it only fitting that the tag line reflect that.

I know for myself personally, 2008, has been the lost year. I have in effect not really achieved much on my list of goals for the past year. I ended up spending too much time playing nanny to my nephews. And while personally rewarding, it has basically caused me to be almost a complete year behind on my life goals.

2009 is the year that I plan on fixing that. As part of those changes, you should see a lot more posting here on the old blog. I am also tweaking my focus a bit. With the release of my OpenOffice E-book Template Set in mid November, I have been slowly changing my focus. I find that I enjoy what I do more when I am writing code that supports my efforts in marketing than necessarily producing end products such as e-books. So in the coming weeks you should see a lot more posting and releases related to “tools.”

And then this afternoon, I had a moment of clarity for what I wanted to title my e-book and the domain was available. A great title that really speaks to the focus of the e-book.

Looks like the universe is telling me something :)
